MarshMog Munching Cattails'

MarshMog Munching Cattails

The MarshMog is the Closest Thing to Walking on Water

The Marsh-Mog is a multi-purpose aquatic wetland rehab machine designed & developed by Clean Lakes located in Martinez, Calif.. The Marshmog was first introduced in 2007.

The Marsh Mog is best suited for aquatic vegetation control in marsh & wetland areas. Marshes and wetlands often times can't be accessed by water aquatic machinery such as the Aquamog, Cookie Cutter or Aquatic Weed Harvesters. As well land equipment such as backhoes, excavators and draglines can't access most marshes & wetlands without building access roads which can damage these sensitive aquatic eco system.

However, the marshmog

has a ground pressure of 0.61 pounds per square inch. This is an amazingly low number and is even less than most individuals just with their footprint. This equates to the most cost effective method of completing maintenance tasks in our sensitive aquatic habitats. The Marshmog can operate in wet soil types where humans can't walk, and in water depths up to 2'two feet}.

The MarshMog can be used for many aquatic weed clearing projects. It can be operated with various tools that include flail mowers and grinders, as well as plows and discing tools.

GPS Guided aquatic herbicide treatments can be completed by the Marshmog as well. In areas that were only previously accessible for this type of work the Marshmog excels at a much lower cost per acre. The Marshmog is fitted with a GPS mapping system that gathers the information required to complete precision treatments as well as mapping of the site for information purposes.

The Marshmog is the most recent cutting edge aquatic maintenance tool created and designed by the same group who in the early 1980's thought of and built the aquamogs.

Harvesting

Posted by admin Comments Off

Aquatic Weed Harvesters have been around for about 40+ years. The concept has not changed much over the years but the technology and the way they are built has been improved as new technology has evolved.

The machines are basically like lawn mowers for water weeds. The front head of the machine drops down into the water and is equipped with a sickle bar type cutter that cuts the vegetation. The cut weeds are than brought onto the aquatic weed harvester by the use of a front conveyor belt system.

The cut vegetation is than piled on a secondary conveyor system that runs the length of the harvester. When this conveyor is full the machine backs up to the shore and off loads the cut aquatic plants onto the shore or on to some type of shore collection system such as a trail conveyor or a shore conveyor.

The material can be used for maney different applications. It makes for great compost for gardens and landscape areas.

There are numerous reasons why it is a good idea to harvest aquatic weeds using the aquatic weed harvesters. The plant material like shown in the photo has been the cause of deaths over the years. Swimmers get tangled in the plant material and are unable to swim. More common reasons for the removal of aquatic plants is that the plants interfere with lake activities. They can also be the breeding ground for many pesky insects.

Bottom line is that the aquatic weed harvester is one good tool for performing aquatic maintenance activities.
